Refund and Cancellation Policy
This policy explains how to cancel a RentBear subscription, what happens when you do, and when you get money back. It forms part of our Terms of Use. RentBear is operated by Hi Bear LLC, Estonia.
1. Our Plans
RentBear has a free plan and two paid plans, priced on our Pricing page. The free plan costs nothing, needs no card, and nothing in this policy applies to it. Paid plans are billed in advance and renew automatically until you cancel.
2. How to Cancel
You can cancel at any time, in your account settings, without contacting us and without giving a reason. If you cannot reach your settings, email support@rentbear.co from the address on the account and we will do it for you.
Cancellation stops the next renewal. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep full access until then — cancelling on day two of a month does not cut you off on day two. After that the account drops to the free plan rather than disappearing; your saved searches stay where they are.
3. Your Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, EU consumer law gives you 14 days from the start of a subscription to withdraw from it, without giving a reason.
RentBear starts delivering alerts as soon as you subscribe, which is normally what you want. Where you have asked us to begin during the withdrawal period, you can still withdraw within those 14 days; we may keep an amount proportionate to the part of the service already supplied, and we refund the rest. In practice, on a monthly plan that means most of what you paid comes back.
To withdraw, email support@rentbear.co with a clear statement that you are withdrawing. Any form of unambiguous statement works — there is no special form to fill in. We refund to the original payment method within 14 days of being told.
4. Refunds Outside the Withdrawal Period
Beyond the 14 days, subscription fees are generally non-refundable, because the service has been delivered — we watched the market and sent you what matched. We do refund in these cases:
| Situation | What we do |
|---|---|
| You were charged twice for the same period | Full refund of the duplicate |
| You were charged after cancelling | Full refund |
| The service was materially unavailable for a sustained period | Pro-rata refund or credit for the affected time |
| We terminate your paid account for a reason other than your breach | Refund of the unused part of the period |
| Payment made without the account holder's authorisation | Full refund, and we secure the account |
Not finding a home is not a refundable event. RentBear tells you about listings faster than you would find them yourself; it cannot make a landlord choose you, and no plan promises a tenancy.
5. The Three-Month Plan
The three-month plan is paid up front and includes a free third month. If you cancel part way through, access continues to the end of the three months. If you withdraw within the first 14 days under section 3, the proportionate deduction is calculated against the full three-month term.
6. Price Changes
If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you before the change takes effect and in time for you to cancel. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
7. Failed Payments
If a renewal payment fails we will retry it and let you know. If it keeps failing, the subscription ends and the account moves to the free plan. We do not send unpaid balances to debt collection for a consumer subscription.
8. How to Reach Us
For anything about billing, cancellation or a refund, email support@rentbear.co. Please write from the address on the account and include the date and amount of the charge. We aim to answer within one working day.
If we cannot resolve it between us, consumers in the EU can get free help from the European Consumer Centre in their country — details are on our Imprint page. Please talk to us first; almost everything is fixable that way.
